DDB Collection - A McCoy Pottery Cache

#MJ001-#MJ008 McCoy Blended Glaze Beehive Jardinieres

These are terrific early McCoy beehive jardinieres with brown, green, and blue blended glazes. A drip glaze extends down from the top as well, which creates a lovely wash of colors!! The beehive jardinieres were first produced by McCoy beginning in 1926. This jardiniere measures 6 1/2" high, is 7 1/4+" in diameter across the top, and measures 5 inches across the unmarked base.

The condition of these jardinieres is extremely good. Two mold lines visible on each side as well as the three kiln stilt/stack marks on the base. One jardiniere has some damage on the inside so price is negotiable.  These jardinieres have a very good weight to them, and display the appropriate age crazing under the glaze. There is one extremely tight line at the top, which ends at the top collar, and blends into the crazing on the outside.

A nice addition to a McCoy Pottery or vintage art pottery collection!!

#MJ016 Pink Lotus Motif Jardiniere

It is a great piece, and in a great warm pink color.  It is one of their HTF pieces especially in the pink color.  It has that distinctive warm soft McCoy glaze that so many contemporary pottery makers tried and failed to copy. This pot is molded very typically of McCoy.  There are a few tiny glaze pops, and glaze line flaws, that give it that authentic look and glaze finish. It has a three tabbed base and is beginning to craze on the inside- but not through to the outside of the gorgeous piece.
